Manufacturers

Foreign Trade Policy provides benefits to Manufacturers who are either importing or sourcing domestically their Inputs/Raw Materials and Capital Goods, which are needed for export production. Exports could be direct, through third parties or deemed exports.

Manufacturers whose products are exempted from Excise Duty (like those in Uttaranchal) should specifically look for EPCG schemes and Duty Exemption schemes since they cannot avail of CENVAT benefits for their domestic supplies.

Even if there are no exports envisaged, the goods can always be imported under DEPB/DFIA schemes, thus availing of some benefits. A new plant can utilize Project Import Scheme.
